Ida seniors drive tractors to school

Seniors from Ida High School drove their tractors to school on Tuesday, June 1, to celebrate their last day of school. Eight tractors were driven as transportation.
“We all got together to decide what we should do for the last day,” said Ida senior Kevin Sproles. “We’ve been trying to decide for a while, but we finally got together last night and decided that we should drive our tractors to school.”
The students met this morning at one of their houses and then drove their tractors together to school. They ranged from garden tractors to full size farm equipment.
“It took us about fifteen minutes,” said Kevin, about the trip. “We sort of held up traffic, but we tried to let the cars pass as much as we could.”
The students also took part in a senior prank the night before.
“We buried the school rock,” said Bobby Brown. “But we got caught, so we had to plant flowers.”
The students planted flowers in the shape of “04.” They also planted tomato plants in the garden around the buried school rock.
Austin Goldsmith was very excited to drive his tractor to school.
“It’s always been an all-time dream to ride a tractor to school,” said Austin with a smile.
At the end of the school day, the seniors all drove their tractors home.
