There were 32 children attending a Junie B. Jones program at the Dundee Library on Saturday, Nov. 16. The children heard part of a book, played games, made crafts related to the books and enjoyed a snack. The program was led by Shannen McMahon.

Dundee Elementary School’s food and gift drive is underway now. It benefits the local Caring and Sharing program, which will see that needy families receive the items. Larry, Matt and Terrell represent the elementary students who are helping the program, chaired by speech and language pathologist Leslie Carpenter. The signs were decorated by students in Ms. Terrice’s and Ms. Coscarelli’s classrooms.
Gourds were painted by students in Mr. Lisker’s fourth grade Dundee classroom this fall. The “gourd buddies,” were used to inspire creative writing projects. The students also had to introduce their buddies to the rest of the class. Now, the buddies are sitting on the students’ desks, where they provide inspiration for classwork, but they will eventually make their way home.
Students in Mr. Lisker’s fourth grade Dundee classroom participated in “Pajama Day,” an annual schoolwide event held this year on Friday, Nov. 15. The students were permitted to wear their jammies and bring a stuffed animal to school, so they could have a cozy reading time.
