Roxanne Cangealose of Dundee portrays the often-inebriated, child-loathing Miss Hannigan, head of the orphanage where Little Orphan Annie lives, in the Monroe Community Players’ production of the musical “Annie,” playing this weekend at the River Raisin Centre for the Arts.
Traci Scheich, Shelli Ewing and Lisa Gizzi (right) were among the parents helping to serve a full Thanksgiving dinner to three classrooms of Dundee second graders on Tuesday, Nov. 26. The students ate a traditional holiday feast of roast turkey, mashed potatoes, vegetables and dessert prepared by parents.

Mrs. Hutchinson distributed Native American games in her first grade Summerfield classroom on Tuesday, Nov. 26. She also had a Monroe County Historical Museum kit for her students so they could see projectile points, birchbark objects decorated with porcupine quills, and other items to help the students understand the historic Native American lifestyle.
Dundee Township Volunteer Fire Department members Matt Ruehs and Duane Stull volunteered their time on Sunday, Dec. 1 to hang the traditional outdoor decorations in the Village of Dundee. This event officially ushers in the holiday season in the village.
