Summerfield High School Pep Club raised money by selling frozen cookie dough, and purchased mats for the gym. The mats hang from the edge of the stage and protect basketball and volleyball players from hurting themselves when they hit the wall. Adam MacIver got a grip on his Blissfield opponent on Wednesday, Jan. 22. The Vikings defeated Blissfield 63-6.

Dundee’s varsity basketball team made it to the semi-finals in the Ida volleyball tournament on Saturday, Jan. 25 before being eliminated by Erie Mason.
Warmer temperatures did not materialize last week as promised by meteorologists. Monday, Jan. 27 was the coldest day of the winter so far, with commuters traveling to work in sub-zero temperatures. It was only up to –4 degrees by 8:30 a.m. This week, temperatures are supposed to be in the 20’s and low 30’s but the area may get a dusting of snow.
Nick Salenbien, Megan Wynn and Emily Salenbien used the computers in the high school library to access the internet for information. They were looking for data for their water issue topic for the ag issues discussion competition. The contest will be held at the FFA Districts in Blissfield on Feb. 5.
