Judges of the quilting category at the Monroe County Fair carefully examined each quilt to determine the quality of the workmanship. After checking on the piecing and stitching of the major design elements, the judges flipped the quilts over to check the stitching of the actual quilting process itself on the back. This sampler quilt was entirely hand-pieced and hand-quilted. Judging took place on Friday, July 25. Photo by Penny Groff
