Youngsters reveled in the spray of water from the Dundee Fire Department hose, held by Rob Justice at Vacation Bible School on Friday, Aug. 8. About 130 community children participated in the weeklong event, which was sponsored by Dundee Interfaith and held at St. John Lutheran Church.

The new Ida township office and library building will be dedicated with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Sunday, Aug. 24 from 1-4 p.m. There also will be refreshments and a magic show.

A Grand Opening Celebration was postponed from Aug. 14, to Sunday, Aug. 24 at 2 p.m. to dedicate the new Dundee High School building. Voters approved a $30 million bond issue to build the new school.

| Bobby Eyler wears the gold medal he earned in France while competing in the team 3-D archery tournament. It was the first such international tournament held. Mr. Eyler and other archers hope 3-D archery will be added to the Olympic Games in 2004. Full story in our print edition. |
