Taylor and Anna Kinzel were dressed as fairy princesses to help give out treats at the Trunk-or-Treat? in Dundee at St. John Lutheran Church on Sunday, Oct. 26. The event was a huge success in its first year, drawing dozens of costumed youngsters and treaters together. Dundee Baptist Church is having a similar event on Halloween night, from 6-8 p.m. for the second year in a row. The goal is to provide a safe place for trick-or-treating.

Not many local fire departments can boast such a heritage of public service. Dundee Township Volunteer Fire Department was honored with a plaque on Friday, Oct. 24 during a special assembly at Dundee Community Schools. The plaque included a special proclamation in their honor by the Board of Education. All the elementary and middle school students attended the assembly. Representing the fire department were (left to right) Earl Orr, Rob Justice and Assistant Fire Chief Bret Waterstradt.
